The clients, David and Zoe, had a strong vision to create a luxurious, spacious home that harmoniously blends the elegance of traditional architecture with refined contemporary detailing and interiors. The three acre site has the benefit of extensive front and rear garden views, set within a beautiful part of Leicestershire on the edge of Woodhouse Eaves. Their top priorities were to create a strong connection between indoor living areas and the natural beauty surrounding the site. The existing stone of the existing bungalow will be reclaimed during demolition and reused within the lower elevations of the new energy-efficient house.
The design is a stunning five-bedroom home offering large open-plan living areas, a library, games and cinema room, kitchen dining living onto the courtyard garden. Floor-to-ceiling steel frame doors allow expansive views of the naturalistic-style garden and open onto the natural swimming pool. The indoor to outdoor flow makes this home ideally suited to both relaxed family living and larger social gatherings.
The garages will also provide space for the client’s collection as well as dedicated guest accommodation above. This provides two bedrooms and living areas that can be self-contained for the privacy of a longer term live-in relative or carer. Flanking the garages is the cellar which will provide a gym and wine cellar.
